What we are
TheGuru.info is a referral and coordination service for people who have been in an auto accident in the Houston area. One call connects you with the attorney, medical provider, body shop and towing service the situation actually requires, and we handle the sequencing between them.
We are not a law firm. We are not a medical practice, an insurer or a repair shop. We do not provide legal, medical or repair services ourselves, and contacting us does not create an attorney-client relationship — that begins only when you sign an agreement directly with an attorney.
That distinction matters enough to state plainly rather than bury. Plenty of services in this space are vague about what they are, and the vagueness is not accidental.
Why coordination is the actual problem
The individual pieces of a wreck are each manageable. Find a lawyer. See a doctor. Get the car fixed. Deal with the adjuster.
The difficulty is that they interlock, they have to happen in a particular order, and you are expected to manage all of it in the week you are least able to. The body shop needs the claim number. The claim needs the crash report. The report takes about ten days to reach TxDOT. The storage lot charges for every one of those days. Meanwhile you have no car, a headache that started on day two, and an adjuster who has already called three times.
Most people handle that badly, not because they are careless but because nobody has ever explained the order. A recorded statement given on day two, an early settlement accepted before treatment finished, a vehicle released to a salvage buyer before anyone photographed it — these are ordinary decisions made under pressure by people who did not know they were decisions.
That is the gap we exist to fill.
How the referrals work
We are paid by the professionals in the network, not by you. There is no cost to you for being connected, and no obligation to use anyone we introduce you to.
We route by what happened. A rear-end collision on the Southwest Freeway, an 18-wheeler crash on I-10 near Baytown and a rideshare collision by the airport call for different attorneys, and matching them properly is the part that makes a referral worth anything. If the first introduction does not feel right, tell us and we will make another.
Attorneys in the network are licensed in Texas and work on contingency: their fee comes from a recovery, and there is no fee if there is no recovery. The percentage and the treatment of case expenses are set in the agreement between you and that attorney. We are not party to it, we do not set it, and you should read it before signing.
Where we work
Greater Houston, across five counties — Harris, Fort Bend, Montgomery, Brazoria and Galveston. That covers Houston itself, Katy, Sugar Land, Pasadena, Pearland, The Woodlands, Baytown, Humble, Missouri City and Cypress, along with the communities around them.
The county line is not trivia. It decides which courthouse a case belongs in, and a crash near a boundary is genuinely worth pinning down early.
Available when crashes happen
The line is answered 24 hours a day, every day of the year, including holidays. This is not a convenience claim. Collisions cluster into evenings, weekends and holidays, and the decisions that shape a claim get made in the first few hours — where the car is towed, whether you accept an ambulance, whether you give a statement at the roadside.
An answering service taking a message until Monday would not be much use at two in the morning on the Gulf Freeway.
